In 1941, production of the BMW R57 Wehrmacht begins. This motorcycle has a bolt on frame,
which allows for easy access to the engine. In 1945, BMW made their first bicycle.
It had an aluminum frame. Following World War II's end in 1945, the Allied forces dismantled the
company's major factories. BMW then made kitchen and garden equipment.
They continued to make these tools until 1948, when they introduced an
inexpensive motorcycle to the German market.
